Our Mission: Preserving a Legacy

At the core of the Limits and Proximities Foundation for the Arts lies a focused and vital mission: to preserve, celebrate, and share the enduring legacy of Fernando Casas. We have created a dedicated environment where his profound themes can be explored with the attention and serenity they deserve.

About the Gallery

Nestled in the heart of Washington D.C.’s historic Georgetown neighborhood, The Limits and Proximities Gallery is a unique sanctuary dedicated to the work of the Bolivian/American artist and philosopher, Fernando Casas. The gallery is more than a collection of objects; it is an experience, carefully curated to allow the complex narratives and visual innovations of a master artist to unfold before you.

The Collection: A Lifetime of Creation

The Limits and Proximities Foundation for the Arts is the custodian of the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of art created by Fernando Casas. The gallery will operate on a dynamic exhibition model, rotating works twice per year. In this way, the public will be able to experience the depth and breadth of the more than 200 pieces of art in the collection that span almost seven decades.

A Dialogue Between Artists

Art thrives on dialogue and shared exploration. The gallery’s collection is thoughtfully complemented by select works from American sculptor Stephen Adams and South American artist Becky Soria, who share a deep history with Fernando Casas.
